Based on a true story, this charming and unconventional comedy has proved to be a surprise box-office hit. Philippe (François Cluzet), an eccentric Parisian millionaire and quadriplegic, hires Driss (Omar Sy), a black immigrant from a poor background, to be his live-in carer. Almost instantly the two men strike up a mischievous camaraderie, giving the audience permission to laugh with, not at, people with disabilities. Ultimately this is an uplifting film about friendship, for which Sy won the 2012 César award for best actor.
