The year is 1968 and four young, talented Aboriginal sisters from the outback are discovered by Dave (Chris O’Dowd), an unlikely talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. The Sapphires (Australia’s answer to The Supremes) get the chance to do their first true gig and travel to Vietnam to sing for the US troops. For the girls on tour in the Mekong Delta a whole new world of sex, war, politics and soul opens. Based on a true story, this is a triumphant celebration of youthful emotion, family and music.
